Through 20 years of industry experience, Biosearch has re-engineered and perfected probe synthesis from the ground up. We’ve formulated our fluorophores and quenchers (Black Hole Quencher®, CAL Fluor®, and Quasar®) specifically for DNA chemistry to ensure optimal signal generation of your Real-time PCR assay.

Drawing upon our vibrant dyes and dark quenchers, we carefully synthesize numerous probe and primer formats: TaqMan®, Molecular Beacons, Scorpions™, Amplifluors™, Plexors™, and BHQplus™. These sophisticated molecules can then be used in gene expression measurement, SNP detection and genotyping, environmental screening, etc.

ALL manufactured oligos are rigorously screened by LC-ESI mass spectrometry to ensure absolute confidence in their quality and performance, for applications spanning R&D to IVD.

Joseph Knecht, Oligonucleotide Production Manager

Joe began his career in nucleic acid technology after graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in Molecular Biology. He joined Biosearch Technologies in 2001 as an Oligonucleotide Chemist.

Trained in custom synthesis, Joe spent his first couple of years at Biosearch manufacturing and purifying custom sequences. He established synthesis, deprotection, and purification protocols for many novel proprietary fluorophores and quenchers

Currently, Joe manages day-to-day operations of Biosearch's custom oligonucleotide group. He has recently expanded manufacturing capabilities to include RNA and large scale synthesis in excess of millimolar quantities. As a pivotal leader to the production team, he continues to synthesize and purify complex custom oligonucleotides to ensure that customers can continue to rely upon Biosearch for their sophisticaed oligo conjugates.
