ValuMix Assays are optimized to deliver the optimal probe/primer ratio for a final primer/probe concentration of 200 µM in a single tube. All ValuMix Assays contain 2 x BHQplus probes, one with a FAM labeled 5' end and another with a dye of your choice TET, CAL Fluor® Gold 540, CAL Fluor Orange 560.

All ValuMix probes are reverse-phase HPLC (RP HPLC) purified and combined with salt-free primers.

Figure 1: A direct comparison of BHQ Probe Master Mix to that of a leading market competitor on crudely extracted and challenging sunflower seed samples known to contain inhibitors. BHQ Probe Master Mix shows tight and easily resolvable clusters with limited no template control (NTC) movement even in the presence of sample inhibitors present in higher concentrations due to the very low total reaction volume of 0.8 μL. Competing mix shows incomplete amplification due to inhibitors resulting in samples where genotype cannot be assigned (pink circles). Experiments adhered to respective mix protocols on hot shot extracted sunflower seed samples using BHQplus Probes on a Nexar® Integrated Liquid Handling and Assay Processing System.
