Other Immunochemicals

Our high-quality LPS and GC7 are suitable for diverse immunology studies, such as studying cellular immune responses and investigating transmembrane proteins involved in signalling pathways

Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)

LPS are characteristic components of the cell wall of Gram negative bacteria; they are not found in Gram positive bacteria. They are localised in the outer layer of the membrane and are, in noncapsulated strains, exposed on the cell surface.

LPS contribute to the integrity of the outer membrane, and protect the cell against bile salts and lipophilic antibiotics. They are often used in immunology research, such as studying T-independent B cell immune response to bacterial LPS, and get conjugated to various reporters such as:

  • FITC (fluorescein isothiocyanate)
  • TRITC (tetramethyrhodamine isothiocyanate)
  • TNP (trinitrophenyl)

Cell cycle synchronisation

N1-Guanyl-1,7-diaminoheptane (GC7) is a potent, cell permeable inhibitor of deoxyhypusine synthase. It is used as a cell growth inhibitor and to synchronise the cell cycle of cultured cells.
